And we’re live!
It was a long time coming and we’ve finally galvanised proper support for our community. There were internal struggles, which explained why the site also took a long time coming, but eventually we’re delivering something to the Singapore WordPress community and will continue to practise an open door policy.
What we hope for is to create a difference in the way tech-based meetups are organised and managed and partner with the different technology interest groups in Singapore and the region to create a vibrant synergy in the technology quorum. In the short months that we have existed, we’ve built our base with decent support locally, and called on our regional contemporaries in Indonesia and Malaysia.
We’re not just playing a communal role in the WordPress community. SWUG sees itself to lead and partner with Asian-based technology groups and foster a Pan-Asian technology network. We hope to provide more features to this site, but it takes more than a few of us to make it happen. All these areĀ still work-in-progress for now, and we hope more like-minded individuals will join SWUG to share their love for WordPress and play a greater role in building a more enriched Asian blogosphere.
To learn more about us, please join our SWUG group on Facebook or if you’re not from or based in Singapore, join our Asian Network.
